In support of our ESHS policy (“It is our goal to minimize waste and to lead the community efforts to reduce, reuse, and recycle natural resources.”) it is our goal to decrease the volume of hazardous waste generated from July 2010 to July 2012 by 20% from the 2009/2010 level. This will be adjusted by a Productivity Index (PI) to account for any increase/decrease in manufacturing. (Ex. If production decreases by 10% in 2011 then the goal would actually be to reduce hazardous waste by roughly 20%. Alternately, if production increased 10% then the goal would be to only produce the same volume of hazardous waste as the previous year.)
It is our goal to decrease the amount of office paper used on-site by 25% from our 2010 levels. The goal of paper reduction will be accomplished by:
Setting office printers’ default to double sided printing
Educating employees about paper reduction and encouraging use of digital media
Identify other paper reduction or recycled paper opportunities to implement if feasible
